![]() ![]() Hence I am looking how to specifically disable them in nf, and was not able. I am thinking that *maybe* the problem comes from the fact that the VM has the modern cpu instruction sets enabled: SSE, MMX, etc. Well, obviously this is not desirable on a headless machine. ![]() For example, emerge does not work because of python issues, and especially sshd: I am able to login, but some time later the ssh client sees a "problem" and cuts the connection. The result does boot but it is not stable. Later I rsynced the resulting system to a HD and booted the board. So I grabbed an stage3 for i486, configured a Virtualbox VM on my i7 desktop, installed and compiled there a gentoo. In short words, it is a headless i486, 32 bits compatible system. I am compiling gentoo for a chinese board with this "beauty" as CPU.
